Janesville Fire Department was dispatched for a car in the river behind Monterey Stadium. JPD was first on scene to report on person in the car, the car 3/4 submerged. As JFD was arriving on scene, a police offer assisted the driver of the automobile to shore by use of a throw rope and rescue bag. The driver had self-extricated and was swimming toward shore and the police officer. A wrecker was called to the scene and a JFD rescue diver went into the river and hooked the auto with the tow line , which allowed the car to be pulled from the river. One patient was tranported to Mercy Hosptial for evaluation.
