NIALL HORAN EXPLAINS WHY HE TOOK OFF SHIRT IN ONE DIRECTION VIDEO

LONDON (AP) -- The thing everyone is talking about with the new One Direction video for "Live While We're Young": Niall (NY'-al) takes off his shirt. When asked if he's trying to upstage the rest of the group, Niall Horan says there's nothing to upstage because he's skinny. He says he took off his shirt because he got warm and he was all wet. Bandmate Louis Tomlinson told Horan not to sell himself short because he looks great.

LIL WAYNE BEATS ELVIS ON HOT 100 CHART -- OR DOES HE?

NEW YORK (AP) -- No male musician has ever had more entries on the Billboard Hot 100 chart than Elvis Presley -- until Lil Wayne came along. Presley had 108 songs, and Lil Wayne now has 109, with the debut of Game's song "Celebration" that features Lil Wayne. However, now the debate begins. The Hot 100 chart debuted in 1958, but Presley's career started before then. As a result, several of his songs, including "Heartbreak Hotel," didn't make the Hot 100. Only 42 of Lil Wayne's 109 songs are led by him. The rest are songs on which he is a featured artist. Both Presley and Lil Wayne get beat out by the "Glee" cast: they've had 204 entries on the Hot 100.

"THE X FACTOR" WRAPS UP AUDITIONS

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- The 13-year-old who fainted at the end of Wednesday's "X Factor" still passed the audition on last night's episode. Trevor Moran sang "Sexy and I Know It." YouTube fans might recognize him as the kid who films himself dancing at Apple stores. L.A. Reid cast the deciding vote that put through a 12-year-old girl who loves pink and sparkles and who annoys Simon Cowell. The judges also said yes to a 540-pound minister who had lost 400 pounds. They rejected a group of sisters who Cowell said sounded like the time he sat on two cats. The contestants will go to boot camp in Miami on Wednesday's episode.

They've donated money to veterans' groups, health charities and victims of the shootings in Aurora, Colorado. Paul Stanley of Kiss says it's a privilege to be in a position to give back.

ASHANTI USING STAR POWER

WASHINGTON (AP) -- There's nothing like a little celebrity clout to get the word out about a cause. Ashanti says that's one reason she teamed up with actor Denzel Washington and Olympic star Michael Phelps to promote the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. She feels celebrities should use their voices to speak out about things they think are important. Ashanti says the Boys and Girls clubs were important to her.
