From: Janesville Police Department

On 04-07-2013 at 11:08 PM, a gas station clerk requested officers check the welfare of a customer in their store. The clerk told dispatch that the customer was stumbling inside of the store, reported that she lost her car in the parking lot, and that she needed assistance using her debit card to make a purchase. Prior to officer arrival, the clerk reported the customer was trying to leave the parking lot in her vehicle. Officers spotted the vehicle leaving the gas station and stopped the vehicle after the operator swerved across the center line.

The operator identified as Patricia E. Hexom, age 49, of Janesville, admitted to drinking, and had slurred speech and an odor of intoxicants on her breath. Her driving status was valid in the State of Wisconsin; however she had 4 prior convictions for OWI. Hexom refused to submit to standardized field sobriety tests and was arrested and taken to the Rock County Jail for an evidentiary test of her blood. The results of her tests are not known at this time.

Hexom is being held at the jail on a charge of OWI 5th offense.
