Monday Morning Entertainment Headlines

BOX OFFICE

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Scaring the dickens out of the competition. The latest "Paranormal Activity" fright flick opens at number one. But P-A 4's 30 million dollar plus opening weekend was a big drop from installments two and three. Ben Affleck's Iran hostage tale "Argo" is a strong second, with 16.6 mil. But movie audiences aren't buying Tyler Perry as a crime fighter. His thriller "Alex Cross" has a disappointing opening. Perry isn't the cross-dressing sassy grandma Madea in his latest film. This time he's detective after a serial killer. But it only manages a fifth-place opening.

"ALEX CROSS" - MATTHEW FOX

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Matthew Fox doesn't blame Tyler Perry for accidentally elbowing him in the head during a fight scene in "Alex Cross." He says "everyone makes mistakes." He says he did something similar in another movie. Fox says Perry was "unbelievably horrified" by what happened. He says Perry called him every day to apologize.

"ARGO"

TORONTO (AP) -- Wearing period clothes helped Kerry Bishe get into her role in "Argo" as one of the Canadian embassy staffers who helped hide six American diplomats during the Iran hostage crisis in 1979. Bishe says it's "liberating" to wear clothes so different from what she's used to. She says it felt like "a mask." She says it helped her feel less like herself.

"DANCING WITH THE STARS"

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- It's "guilty pleasures" week on "Dancing With the Stars." That means the two teams will dance to a song considered to be a guilty pleasure. The team of Gilles Marini, Kelly Monaco, Kirstie Alley and Emmitt Smith will dance to "Gangnam Style." The team of Shawn Johnson, Sabrina Bryan, Melissa Rycroft and Apolo Anton Ohno will dance to "Call Me Maybe." No one gets voted off this week.

"THE VOICE"

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- The battle of the duets continues tonight on "The Voice." It's the final battle round. The coaches will make more decisions about who stays and who goes and which acts they'll steal.

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE, JESSICA BIEL MARRY, FAKE OUT REPORTERS

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel got married last Friday, faking out reporters who thought the wedding wasn't going to be until the weekend. They even kept things secret from their guests, waiting until the last minute to reveal that the ceremony would take place in southern Italy. They've been together five years. Timberlake proposed nearly a year ago. Last July, Biel told the AP she never thought she'd get engaged. But when it happened, she said "it just was right."

DENNIS QUAID DIVORCE

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- The reconciliation didn't work, so Kimberly Buffington has filed for a legal separation from her husband Dennis Quaid. She originally filed last March saying that their marriage had become "insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities." But a month later, she changed her mind and said they'd work on their marriage. Court papers obtained by TMZ.com say Buffington wants Quaid to have visitation rights for their four-year-old twins.

ELLEN DEGENERES AWARD

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Ellen DeGeneres gets the Mark Twain Prize for comedy at the Kennedy Center in Washington tonight. Jimmy Kimmel, John Krasinski and Lily Tomlin are among the stars who'll pay tribute to her. Kristin Chenoweth, Sean Hayes and Jason Mraz will also take part. The tribute will be taped for broadcast on PBS October 30.

UMA THURMAN BABY NAME IS A MOUTHFUL

NEW YORK (AP) -- She'll have a hard time fitting her name on a credit card. Uma Thurman and her boyfriend have named their daughter Rosaline Arusha Arkadina Altalune Florence Thurman-Busson. Thurman's publicist tells People.com that each name has "a special reason and meaning" to Thurman and Arpad Busson. The girl will be called Luna for short.
