Thursday Morning Entertainment Headlines

"AMERICAN IDOL"

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- It's an "American Idol" cliffhanger. At the end of last night's show, 16-year-old Symone Black fainted and fell off the stage. The crew was calling paramedics as the first episode of Hollywood Week ended. We'll find out what happened to her tonight. More than 300 would-be Idols got golden tickets and 68 were cut. Among those who didn't make it is Jim Carrey's daughter, Jane. But she says she got some reassurance from her dad, who told her he had been rejected many times, too. Jane adds things turned out pretty well for him, so maybe she has a shot.

"JOURNEY 2: MYSTERIOUS ISLAND" - DWAYNE JOHNSON

HONOLULU (AP) -- It was Dwayne Johnson's idea to sing and play the ukulele in "Journey 2: Mysterious Island." The movie was filmed in Hawaii, where Johnson's from. He says like most Polynesians, he loves music and grew up in a musical family. Besides, he says, with the island sinking and everything else going on, the movie's tense enough. He wanted to provide a little levity. "Journey 2: Mysterious Island" opens tomorrow.

"W.E." - ANDREA RISEBOROUGH

TORONTO (AP) -- Jewelry helped Andrea Riseborough get into playing Wallis Simpson in "W.E." Riseborough got to wear jewelry from Simpson's collection. She says that was "truly evocative." She says to share that moment with Simpson, "it was like she was quietly sitting" with her. W.E. was directed by Madonna. It opens in more cities tomorrow.

ZOMBIE FROM ORIGINAL "NIGHT OF THE LIVE DEAD" DIES. REALLY

SOUTH BEAVER TOWNSHIP, Penn. (AP) -- To fans of the original "Night of the Living Dead," he was known as the Cemetery Zombie. Bill Hinzman was working as a cameraman on the movie when George Romero asked him to appear in the opening scene where he rose from a grave in the cemetery. Hinzman has now died of cancer at the age of 75. His daughter tells the Beaver County Times that her dad always joked that if he was buried instead of cremated, he'd come back. His daughter had him cremated.
