A local teenager is celebrating a huge milestone that is years in the making! It's an accomplishment so rare, only three people from Wisconsin have done it. This is the story of a young man who took on challenge after challenge and came out on top every single time.

16-year-old Colin Paiva is your typical sophomore at Edgewood High School. But outside of class, he's accomplished an extremely rare feat.

“I've done something that so few people have done,” said Colin.

Colin is a scout, but not just any scout. Ge's earned every single merit badge possible: 133 in all.

“It makes me feel really good and that I've really accomplished something really special,”

Millions of young men have gone through the scouts.

“It's really led me to try new things a lot more,” he adds.

But only 179 have achieved what Colin has.

“It's really taught me about perseverance too,”

It all started back in first grade.

“Well, the first merit badge is coin collecting, This is where it first started,” Colin says.

And Colin stuck with it, taking on and overcoming challenges along the way.

“I just started doing things based on my interests,”

“There may seem things that you cant do but if you really try really hard and you dedicate yourself you really can do it,

His biggest challenge: earning that elusive water ski badge.

“I think just the physical part of it I was just bad at it I guess,”

Colin says it takes most kids become an Eagle Scout when they're in high school. But not Colin. He says he got that distinction back in 7th grade.

In fact, he has so many badges, he's had to make his sash bigger to make room.

“I think my parents are definitely very proud of me,”

He credits the scouts for molding him into the young man he is today.

“School is good to a point, it really prepares you for what you need for college, but I think Boy Scouts has prepared me for life,” says Colin.

After college, Colin plans on attending college to study business.
