COUNTRY STARS REACT TO HURRICANE SANDY

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Country stars are concerned about people on the East Coast affected by Hurricane Sandy. During rehearsals for the CMA Awards, Luke Bryan said he's praying for all the families involved and hopes everyone can stay safe. Brad Paisley tweeted: "Everybody in the path of that storm please be safe. Wow is that scary looking on radar." With the CMA Awards on Thursday, Brantley Gilbert offered up a refuge for storm victims. He said, "Come on down to Tennessee and hang out with us. Get out of that junk." For those with power, the CMAs will air live from Nashville on Thursday, November 1st.

TAYLOR SWIFT TO CO-HOST GRAMMY AWARDS NOMINATIONS SPECIAL

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Taylor Swift will co-host the Grammy nominations TV special. She will join LL Cool J in Nashville to host the December 5th show. Luke Bryan has also been added to the special as a performer. He joins Maroon 5 as the only acts announced so far. The show will air live on CBS. This is the first year the nominations special will be broadcast from Music City. The actual Grammy Awards will be held February 10th in Los Angeles.

"THE VOICE": FEMALE LYRICS FROM A DIFFERENT POINT OF VIEW

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Guys singing country songs by female artists were the trend on "The Voice" last night. Cody Belew sang "Jolene" to defeat R-and-B singer Avery Wilson on Team Cee Lo. Daniel Rosa did Taylor Swift's "Back To December," but it wasn't enough to knock out indie artist Mackenzie Bourg in another Team Cee Lo matchup. Joe Kirkland from Team Adam pulled out his version of Swift's "Mean," but Bryan Keith beat him with a version of Bryan Adams' song "(Everything I Do) I Do It For You."

JASON ALDEAN RAISES OVER HALF MILLION FOR BREAST CANCER

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Jason Aldean's efforts are paying off in the fight against breast cancer. He raised over $509,000 during his seventh annual "Concert for the Cure" in Dallas. The money will help support the local chapter of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Aldean played to a sold-out crowd of more than 20,000 people on the last stop of his "My Kinda Party" tour.

SHANIA TWAIN REHEARSING IN VEGAS

LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Shania Twain is gearing up for her Las Vegas residency, and she's already had what she calls her "first favorite moment." She tweeted a photo of her with Elton John, saying "a genuine welcome hug from music hero Elton John backstage in 'our' dressing room." Her show, called "Shania - Still The One" begins December 1st at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

GRAND OLE OPRY HELPS BRAD PAISLEY TURN 40

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- The Grand Ole Opry is helping Brad Paisley celebrate his 40th birthday with a special video message. A Marilyn Monroe look alike sang happy birthday to him. At the end of the song, the camera panned to "Marilyn's" face, and it was -- Little Jimmy Dickens. Dickens said, "Happy Birthday, Mr. Paisley." And then turned to the side and told someone, "This girdle is killing me." Paisley tweeted his response, saying "a clear case AGAINST HD cameras." Paisley turned the big 4-0 on October 28th.

CARRIE UNDERWOOD TO CONTINUE TOUR IN 2013

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Carrie Underwood is continuing her "Blown Away" tour next year with 40 more dates. She's getting things started again on February 13th in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Hunter Hayes will continue as her special guest opener. She's once again donating $1 from each ticket sold to support Red Cross disaster relief.
