KELLY RIPA'S NEW CO-HOST - NO ON-AIR WEDDING FOR HIM

NEW YORK (AP) -- Many a couple got married on the air when Regis Philbin hosted his talk show. Kelly Ripa's new co-host won't follow that tradition. In an interview shortly after the first episode of "Live With Kelly and Michael," Michael Strahan told AP Radio that he wants his wedding to be private. He's engaged to Eddie Murphy's ex, Nicole. However, Strahan does say he'll be glad to talk about the wedding plans as they go along.

WHO WAS THE AUDITIONING CO-HOST WHO KELLY RIPA DIDN'T LIKE?

NEW YORK (AP) -- Kelly Ripa seemed like she was joking when she said that she didn't like one of the 59 people who auditioned to be her co-host. Apparently not. Ripa says she'd never reveal the person's identity. But she says her new co-host Michael Strahan has figured it out. She says Strahan is such a fan of the show that he knows her body language, so he could tell when she wasn't enjoying herself.

JESSICA SANCHEZ TO PERFORM TONIGHT AT DEMOCRATIC CONVENTION

CHARLOTTE (AP) -- Jessica Sanchez has a high profile engagement tonight. Sanchez will sing at the Democratic National Convention. Branford Marsalis will play the national anthem.

"DANCING WITH THE STARS: ALL STARS" - TOM BERGERON

BEVERLY HILLS (AP) -- The All-Star edition of "Dancing With the Stars" that will premiere later this month isn't the show that was originally planned. Tom Bergeron says the first idea was to have just runners-up compete. He says the proposal was changed to include winners, runners-up and other contestants. He says that way, it becomes "a celebration of the whole show." Dancing With the Stars: All Stars premieres September 24th.

"DANCING WITH THE STARS: ALL STARS" - BROOKE BURKE-CHARVET

BEVERLY HILLS (AP) -- Athletes have done well on "Dancing With the Stars," partly because they're used to the physical training. Brooke Burke-Charvet says the athletes might lose that advantage in the All Stars edition. Burke-Charvet says all the contestants are familiar with the grueling training now, so there's more of a level playing field. Four of the 12 returning contestants are athletes. Dancing With the Stars: All Stars premieres September 24th.

ELISHA CUTHBERT IS ENGAGED

UNDATED (AP) -- Elisha Cuthbert tweets that she's "happily, happily, happily engaged!" Her boyfriend Dion Phaneuf of the Toronto Maple Leafs popped the question over Labor Day. Cuthbert tweets that it was "the most amazing weekend ever." Cuthbert and Phaneuf have been dating for four years.

KATHLEEN TURNER ONE-WOMAN SHOW

WASHINGTON (AP) -- A thick Texas accent and a pair of red cowboy boots help Kathleen Turner become the late newspaper columnist Molly Ivins in her one-woman show. Turner says the accent is "very wide, very broad." While the cowboy boots change the way she stands and walks. Turner is in Washington doing eight shows a week of "Red Hot Patriot: The Kick-Ass Wit of Molly Ivins." She says it's amazing considering she was told she'd never walk again when she was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis some 20 years ago. It's now in remission.

"FLASHDANCE" MUSICAL

NEW YORK (AP) -- The musical version of "Flashdance" is heading to Broadway. Producers hope to open in a year. They say the show has been "substantially rewritten" since it was done in London two years ago. The man behind "Jersey Boys" and other productions will direct and choreograph the musical.
