Wednesday Morning Entertainment Headlines

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Two former champs on "Dancing With the Stars" won't be repeat winners. Last night's All-Stars edition featured a double elimination. First to go was Drew Lachey, the season-two winner. The other former champ to get the ax is Helio Castroneves. But political daughter Bristol Palin sails through. Even though she scored at the bottom of the judges' leaderboard again this week, the viewers didn't agree. Their votes keep her in the competition for at least another week.

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- It was Blake Shelton versus Cee Lo Green on last night's edition of "The Voice." They were both trying to pick up a singer who had been given the boot by Team Adam. Shelton and Green tried to convince indie rocker Caitlin Michele to go with their team. Green even said his middle name was "Unique" so he could handle her unique talent. That seemed to the trick, with Caitlin opting for Team CeeLo.

NEW YORK (AP) -- Jennifer Garner says she plays so many "pretty, girl-next-doorish" types in her movies -- even she is getting sick of herself. That's why she says it was cool to be able to take on a less likable woman in the person of Laura Pickler in "Butter." She says her character gave her a chance to stretch her acting muscles a bit. The flip side of the no more Mrs. Nice Girl role is that her character, is -- as Garner puts it: "a heinous person" who is "not to be emulated in any way."

Butter opens in some cities on Friday.

NASHVILLE (AP) -- When we last saw Hayden Panettiere, she was one of the "Heroes" on the NBC series. She was the cheerleader with healing powers. Now, she's the up-and-coming country star on the new ABC series "Nashville." Panettiere says her new role is dream come true, because she gets to act and sing. She adds she has a lot in common with her character, by coming to fame in her teens. Nashville premieres tonight.

NEW YORK (AP) -- Louis C.K. is getting "a little breathing room." FX says it's granting a request to delay the return of its hit comedy "Louie." Along with performing in the show, the Emmy-winner serves as producer, writer and editor, and also created it. The fourth season of Louie is now slated for the spring of 2014. But Louis C.K. isn't taking an extended vacation. He's continuing his live standup tour.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) -- Peter Gamlen thinks he has one of Paul Newman's old suits. The 23-year-old British illustrator says he found the suit in a trash bag of old clothes in the basement of an apartment building in Connecticut. Gamlen says the suit was by the tailor Henry Stewart, whose clients included Newman. He says the tailor's tag on the suit lists the client as Newman. The owner of the New Haven building says she has no idea how the late Oscar-winner's clothes could have wound up in the basement. Newman died in 2008.

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Charlie Brown and his "Peanuts" pals are coming to the big-screen. The Charles Schulz characters are starring in their own animated film. It's scheduled to hit theaters November 25th, 2015. That year marks the 65th anniversary of the "Peanuts" comic strip and the 50th anniversary of "A Charlie Brown Christmas," the first of the gang's many TV specials.

NEW YORK (AP) -- The suits at NBC finally have something to smile about. The latest Nielsen ratings show that NBC is the only one of the four major networks to show an audience boost in the first two weeks of the season. Sunday night football and "The Voice" lead the way. The new thriller "Revolution" is the network's most-watched scripted show. Overall CBS' "NCIS" was the nation's most popular TV show last week. Here's the rest of the top-five: San Diego versus New Orleans on NBC, "60 Minutes," "The Big Bang Theory" and "NCIS: Los Angeles," all on CBS.
