His appearance comes as he's spent the past several days boosting his profile in the state. He took questions from listeners on a radio talk show yesterday and held a Capitol news conference.
FOND DU LAC, Wis. (AP) -- A Fond du Lac man was sentenced to 10 years of probation for causing injuries that led to the death of an 18-month-old girl. Twenty-four-year-old Tyler Jackson was also sentenced to 10 years in prison, but he won't have to be spent time behind bars if he successfully completes probation.
ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) -- Alaskan authorities are suspending the search for a missing 31-year-old survivalist from Wisconsin who set out alone in the Alaska wilderness in late September. Rescuers spent two weeks looking for Three Lakes resident Thomas Seibold, an experienced outdoorsman.
MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- State environmental officials are collecting public comments on three businesses' applications to join the Green Tier program. Badger Mining Corporation, silica sand producer Unimin Corporation and metal recycling outfit Waukesha Iron and Metal all are trying to join the program. It provides regulatory flexibility for businesses that commit to protecting the environment.
