One man's trash is another man's treasure. And we mean that literally for one Madison artist.

Emily Kircher takes recylcing to the next level and puts it on your finger, around your neck or even on your floor.

"Thirft stores, yard sales, anyplace where garbage is being sold or second hand items. I am there, searching," says Emily Kircher.

Emily uses old plates and dishes to make these beautiful mosiac picture frames.

And here is something very unique, do you know what these rings are? They are bottle caps. The images inside are from children's books, junk mail and playing cards.

"I have a lot of friends who drink beer and save their caps for me. I also know a bar owner which helps. If worse comes to worse, sellers on Ebay will sell me their bottle caps.

She also makes necklaces and fridge magnets out of bottle caps.

Emily doesn't just stick to jewelry. These bathmats or wall hangings may have been a bedspread or an old suit at one time.

"I use old clothes and linens and curtains. Any kind of fabric I can find at thrift stores or yard sales. I cut it up, crochet it into mats."

Emily says she enjoys using recycled materials and turning them into functional items that help save the environment.
