High end fashion is not a new trend...but how about a store that sells that and gives your children a place to play so moms can shop in peace.
In this week's Hot Trends....we take you to the Purple Goose.
Inside the store in Verona there are a lot of good deals to be had.
But sometimes, to get that bargain, you really need to throw yourself into shopping. And that can be hard to do when you have kids at your side. Owner and mother of 3...Halley Jones.
" I was frustrated that there really weren't any options to go shopping where children felt welcome. So we added a nice corner of toys to keep children busy where moms shop.. "
They also sell baby and kids clothes upstairs.
The prices also make it easy on customers. The Purple Goose has high-end fashion on a budget. Everything in this store is 99-dollars and under. A nice surprise for customers..
"They're expecting that things are going to be 80, 100, 150 and when they flip over the price tag the average price in here is 40 dollars."
She finds her clothes mostly from smaller stores on the east coast, so you won't see these unique fashions in a department store.
This is a tough time for many retailers so The Purple Goose cross-sells merchandise from other stores...making this a real local team effort.
"A lot of times we meet at different functions like dane buy local or great Madison convention and visitors bureau or they come in here shopping themselves. "
They also have a tailor at the store so for a small fee she can alter any top or jeans you buy there.
