Like we've seen in the airline industry, a little competition is good.
And that competition has come for Botox, the product used to relax wrinkles in your face
A new product approved by the FDA will give Botox a run for its money and will save you some in the process. Its called Dysport.
"It is the same active ingredient. So because of that the area of treatment is going to be roughly the same. The side effect profile will be the same. The difference primarily will be the cost "
It varies from office to office, but it will be about 50 dollars less in this office.
There may be further benefits to the product used to relax the lines in your face.
"Botox historically we talk about working at about 3 to 7 days - Dysport might be like 3 now. "
The same kind of needle is used and, like Botox, Dysport can be done in about 5 minutes.
"There's some ongoing question about duration. There are some articles that say it might last a little longer - some of the articles say it might last a little less for time. So that's going work itself out in time."
Dysport is not a new product. It has been used in Europe since the early 90's and competes there with Botox.
