Many of us think "waterparks" when we think of the dells... but an event in the dells this weekend will showcase the history there and so much more. And its free.
That's why "a taste of the dells" makes this week's Hot Trends.
Mark Wade is the owner of High Rock cafe....an eclectic, modern american cuisine restaurant in the dells. He is making the Harper Pasta with a basil pesto cream sauce and chicken. Just one of the many restaurants taking part this weekend in this community event.
"We have about 20 restaurants participating... and 100 crafters that come from all out of state to do the show as well. "
There will also be enterntainment to keep kids and their families entertained.
Several bands will keep the mood light as well. The craft vendors will be set up for the 2 day event....held at Bowman park on Oak street.
And a free shuttle will take you around to area restaurants as well where you can also sample the foods from area restaurants. This is something that really features the downtown area...from food to flashy cars.
"This is our 5th year. we really want to try to promote the downtown area which is a very historic area ... and how the area got to be known for what it is today. "
There is a lot of history at the dells and it is just beautiful there.
Taste of the Dells is this saturday from 11 to 7pm and sunday 11 to 3pm.
