Penny and Dean Dickman, of Wisconsin Dells, always thought they lived in a safe place, that's until last weekend when 11 cars were broken into and one was stolen. The stolen truck belonged to Dean.
"They've gone from breaking into cars to auto theft, so it has already escalated," said Penny Dickman.
On Elm Street where Penny and Dean live, 4 cars were broken into, including Penny's.
Sylvan Winden who lives just 2 doors down also had his car broken into.
Wisconsin Dells police say last Saturday night several cars were broken into on Elm, Cedar and Oak Streets.
Police say the suspects were on a mission to steal a car.
"It looked like the main motive was to find a vehicle to get out of town," said Sgt. Jesse Weaver
