Authorities have filed a criminal complaint against an Indianapolis man for intentionally causing an individual who he believed was a 15-year-old girl to view sexually explicit conduct.
Beginning in May, 53-year-old Robert Roach, an English teacher in Indiana, began communicating with a Watertown detective posing as a girl named "Hannah." As their conversations escalated he exposed himself on a webcam several times, and planned to visit her in Watertown.
Before he was taken into custody for extradition to Wisconsin, he was planning to visit next week. In a chat, he said "NOTHING" would stop him from coming.
Roach has since been suspended from his teaching position. The school district says nothing suggests he had sexual relationships with his students.
Roach faces seven counts of causing a child age 13-18 to view sexual activity.
If convicted, Roach faces a maximum fine of $70,000 and/or 42 years in prison.
