The Columbia County Sheriff's Office arrested three people and booked them into the county jail on felony drug charges.
The sheriff's department says an undercover officer purchased Oxycontin tablets from Gary A. Merrill and Yevgeniy Korchemakha. They believe a third person, David J. Stanchik, was also present as a lookout.
After attempted to make an arrest, there was a brief high speed chase through the Wisconsin Dells. The suspects crashed into a curb before fleeing on foot. Officers were able to apprehend all three suspects.
Arrested were: Gary A. Merrill, 40, of Wisconsin Dells, for delivery of Oxycontin and obstructing; Yevgeniy Korchemkha, 20, of Wisconsin Dells, for delivery of Oxycontin, obstructing and eluding an officer; Donald J. Stanchik, 43, of Wisconsin Dells, for felony possession of marijuana as a repeater, perty to the crime of delivery of Oxycontin and obstructing.
