Incident Report from Madison Police Department:
On Tuesday night, at 11:15 p.m., Madison police responded to an apartment in the 1000 block of East Washington Avenue after a resident found a burglar inside his residence. The man said he had come home, and was in his bedroom, when a woman darted out of his closet. He knocked her down. She got up and ran again. He was able to put himself between the burglar and the apartment door. The burglar responded by grabbing a knife from the kitchen.
At this point the resident decided this was not something over which he wished to get hurt. He backed off the door, and the woman ran out. Several items, including jewelry, were found to be missing from the apartment. The victim says during his contact with the woman she claimed to be a "junkie." He said she had a gravely voice, and smelled of bad flatulence.
Perpetrator is described as a female, white, 40's, 5'4", 150 lbs., brown short hair, wearing a gray t-shirt, and blue pants.
