On Saturday morning Madison Police were called to the emergency room of a local hospital where a man had checked himself in with a gunshot wound around 10:00 a.m. The victim told hospital staff he did not want police contact, but that wish was not granted. He told officers he was shot around 10:30 p.m. the night prior (Friday the 28th) while walking on a Fisher Street sidewalk near Penn Park. The victim claims he saw a group of guys arguing and then heard several gunshots. At first he says he did not know he had been hit, and just kept walking. He says he did not recognize any of those involved in the dispute. Madison Police did not find any shell casings in the area where the crime was said to have taken place, and there were no calls to dispatch around 10:30 p.m. Friday night regarding shots being fired near Penn Park.
