Incident report #1 from Madison Police Department:
Monday evening, at 6:52 p.m., several Madison Police officers responded to Batteries Plus, 3721 East Washington Avenue, after an employee was punched twice during a robbery attempt. The victim said two perpetrators entered the store. They asked for job applications, and for the employee to make change for a couple of bills. The larger criminal then punched the victim in the face. He fell to the ground, and was hit in the head by the smaller thug. The victim got up, fled a nearby business, and summoned help. The perpetrators fled before getting any money.
Perpetrator #1 is described as a male, black, light-skinned, 6'2", 20's, and wearing a black coat.
Perpetrator #2 is described as a male, black, dark-skinned, 5'10", and wearing a black coat.
Male, age 22, Madison
Victim suffered bruises, scratches, and cuts to his face and head.
Incident report #2 from Madison Police Department:
Monday night, around 7:28 p.m., several Madison Police officers were sent to Rocky's Liquor, 4429 Milwaukee Street, following a robbery. A clerk says perpetrator #1 entered the store, while #2 remained outside. Perpetrator #1 demanded money, and implied he had a weapon. He took cash from the till and fled.
There are similarities between this case and the one mentioned above. However, it is too early for detectives to conclusively determine whether the same individuals committed both crimes.
Perpetrator #1 is described as a male, black, 6'1", 210 lbs., light-skinned, and wearing a black jacket, gray or white baggie sweatpants, and black tennis shoes with some white on the bottom.
Perpetrator #2 is described as a male, black, and wearing black coat.
