Incident report from Madison Police Department:
On July 27th, around 12:40 p.m., salespersons at Rogers & Hollands Jewelers, West Towne Mall, reported a diamond ring, and a wrap that goes around it, had just been stolen.
The jewelry was valued at more than $8,000. A sales associate said a nervous man came in wanting to look at rings. She had the ring and wrap on her finger, showing it to the customer, when he grabbed both and ran.
Store staff sent out an email to other Rogers & Hollands Jewelers locations advising of the theft, and learned two other Rogers & Hollands stores had been targets of similar crimes. Both are in Illinois, and the thefts occurred on July 30th.
Male, black, 5'8", average build, clean-shaven, wearing a blue striped shirt, and a blue baseball hat with a Ralph Lauren logo on it.
