KENOSHA, Wis. (AP) -- A man has been sentenced to eight years in
prison for driving drunk and causing a crash that killed a 5-year-old boy in Kenosha County.
Twenty-nine-year-old Marcus Thornton blew through a stop sign last September, slammed into a vehicle and killed Bailey McCollum.
A video tribute was played in Kenosha County court Thursday during the sentencing hearing. Bailey's mother told Thornton she does not hate him, but rather hates the fact he chose to drive drunk again and inflicted pain on her family.
It was the third time Thornton was caught driving drunk. He was also driving with a revoked license.
