UPDATE: Inmate Escapes Dane County Jail

UPDATED Monday, July 19, 2010 --- 3:54 p.m.

Update from the Dane Co. Sheriff's Office:

July 19, 2010 – At approximately 2:30 pm today, Cody J. Bradley was taken into custody by Dane County Sheriff’s Deputies.

Deputies had actively been searching for Bradley since his escape from the Ferris Center on Friday, July 16th. He was apprehended without incident from a residence on East Main Street in Stoughton.

Inmate Escapes from Ferris Center

At approximately 8:45 pm on Thursday, July 15th, inmate Cody J. Bradley escaped from the Dane County Jail.

Bradley was being housed at the Ferris Center on Rimrock Road when he fled by foot through the back door. Bradley is serving a one-year sentence for burglary and is on probation.

He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and black or gray shorts and a black or gray hat. Bradley is 19 years old and resides in Stoughton. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 911

    I know this kid and believe me, he's not dangerous to anyone but himself. I so wish he could get the help he needs to turn his life around.

    The Ferris Center is minimum security, i.e. NO LOCKED DOORS. Hardly an 'escape' since he just walked on outta there. Y'all might be surprised to learn that Oregon Minimum Security Prison & Thompson Minimum Security Prison (both right outside of Madison- Thompson is out by Deerfield) house murderers, rapists and other violent convicted offenders, all with no locks on the doors....

    Maybe it's time someone makes sure the guards aren't playing solitare instead of watching the inmates! Jeeze!Just a suggestion seeing as how this is about the what, fifth person in as many months that has escaped?
