With Memorial Day weekend upon us, bars in downtown Madison are gearing up for a busy weekend. That includes extra security after last weekend's shooting.
Madison Police tell NBC15 that they'll be placing more officers on the streets this holiday weekend. Bar managers don't seem too concerned with the recent violence in the area.
Matt Olsen, with State Street Brats says, "We aren't too worried about it, we haven't stepped up security, we think it's just kind of an isolated incident and we are hoping that we get back to normal."
Many bar owners think the problems are due to large crowds gathering outside the bars.
