UPDATE: 2 men to face charges after Travel Center robbery

UPDATED Tuesday, July 1, 2014 --- 3:26 p.m.

Dane County Sheriff's officials say two men are being charged in connection with an armed robbery at the TA Travel Center on Highway 51.

The robbery happened April 15th. You can read more details on the crime in the updates below this story text.

39-year-old Corin Cramer of Tomah is being charged with armed robbery with use of force, possession of a firearm by a felon and felony bail jumping. He is currently being held in the Vernon County Jail on other charges.

40-year-old Adrian Collins of Deforest, is charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, felony bail jumping and maintaining a drug trafficking place. He is being held in the Dane County Jail.

Deputies conducted a search warrant at Collins's Deforest home on May 21st after learning that the two men were working together. They reportedly found evidence related to the robbery, as well as evidence of drug trafficking.


UPDATED Wednesday, April 16, 2014 --- 1:34 p.m.

Dane Co. deputies have released images from an armed robbery at the TA Travel Center in the Town of Burke.

Deputies responded to a call at the 5901 Highway 51 location around 3:50 a.m. Tuesday.

A gloved and masked man armed with a handgun demanded money. He ran away with cash and got into a pick-up truck waiting outside. A second man was in the driver's seat.

Also Tuesday morning, a town of Windsor resident reported their pick-up truck was stolen. Detectives have determined that the truck was the one used in the robbery. The truck was recovered and returned to its owner.

Deputies want to talk to anyone who may have seen the vehicle in the area at the time of the robbery. It is a 2008, red, Chevrolet Silverado pick-up with silver tool box in the cargo bed.

They also want to talk to anyone who may recognize the suspect seen wearing the hooded sweatshirt in the attached pictures. Detectives are also interested in speaking with a customer in the TA Travel Center at the time of the robbery, also shown in the photos. The Dane County Sheriff's Office says, deputies responded to an armed robbery at 5901 US Highway 51 in the town of Burke around 3:50 a.m.

Two clerks told them, they were working at the TA Travel Center when a gloved and masked man approached them displaying a handgun and demanding money.

They say suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash to a pick-up truck waiting outside with a second male in the driver seat.

Just before 8:00 am, a resident of the town of Windsor reported their pick-up stolen. Detectives believe this was the same vehicle used in the armed robbery. The stolen vehicle was recovered and returned to its owner.

Detectives are continuing to investigate and ask anyone with information related to the crime to call the Dane County tip line at (608) 284-6900.
