Armed robbery in Cottage Grove

Cottage Grove Police responded to a report of an armed robbery on the 1200 block of N. Windsor in the Village of Cottage Grove just before 4:00 a.m. this morning.

Apparently two men forced their way into the victims' home demanding money.

One of the suspects then hit one of the victims in the head with a handgun. Police say the victim was injured but refused treatment.

The suspects then left the home with an undisclosed amount of cash, and stole a car from the victims' driveway.

The car was later found abandoned on I-94 going eastbound. Sun Prairie Police K-9 performed a track from the abandoned car.

Police believe the suspects were likely picked up by another vehicle on the interstate.

The male suspects are described as two black men. One of the suspects was described as six feet tall, with a husky build.

The other suspect was described as being shorter and having a lighter complexion than his accomplice. Both were described as wearing dark clothing, with hoodie type jackets and a ski masks.
