Release from Baraboo Police Department:
On Thursday April 26, 2012, at approximately 11:52 am, Baraboo Police was notified of an armed robbery that had just taken place at the Spin Shack, 136 3rd Street, Baraboo. A gun was displayed and the subject fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. The store clerk provided a description of the suspect to Sauk County Dispatch, who relayed the information to officers via police radio. A Baraboo Community Service Officer involved in parking enforcement in the area, recognized the suspect description and was able to provide a vehicle description and a direction of travel.
Shortly after the description was given out, a Sauk County Deputy observed a vehicle matching the description at a gas station in Merrimac, WI. He made contact with the subject, later identified as Chase E. Thistle, 23 of Lodi, WI . In the course of the investigation, it was determined that this was the proper vehicle. Thistle is in custody at the Sauk County jail and charged with 1 count of Armed Robbery. Items of evidence were recovered at the scene and from the vehicle. The Baraboo police was assisted by the Sauk County Sheriff’s office and WI State Patrol.
