Alvaro A. Lema Mosegue, age 32, Stoughton

Victim: Female, age 34, Middleton
Details: A Middleton woman, who was downtown socializing Saturday night, placed her purse on a bar stool, then turned her back to it as she talked with friends. Moments later, the purse was gone. Tavern staff at Whiskey Jacks Saloon, 552 State St., quickly reviewed surveillance video and identified two suspects. One was leaving the bar; the other was still inside.
Employees got into a foot case with the outside suspect, and were able to hold him until police arrived. He had the victim's iPhone 5, her credit cards, and her cash. The purse was found, still inside the saloon. Another bar employee helped an arriving officer detain the second suspect after he tried to run. The victim was able to get all of her property back.
Surveillance video indicates the two suspects were working in concert with one another. The MPD would encourage citizens to not leave valuables unattended at bars, restaurants, and other public places.
