Bomb Scare Closes Janesville Walmart

Release from Janesville Police Department:

On 04/27/2011 at 01:21 p.m. the Janesville Police Department responded to the Janesville Walmart at 3800 Deerfield Dr. after several “911” calls were placed to the Rock County Dispatch Center. The caller threatened acts of violence including bombing the building.

The business was closed for about an hour and a half while officers secured the area, and eventually located the suspect. Francisco J. Vargas, 29 of Detroit, Michigan was arrested for two felony counts of reporting false emergencies to 911, and one felony count of causing a bomb scare.
