Platteville Police want anyone with information on an explosive device left in a mailbox to come forward. Or to come forward if you see one yourself.
A delivery person noticed a so-called "bottle bomb" in a private postal box near the intersection of Union Street and Perry Drive. Arriving officers noticed the bomb, which contained caustic chemicals, had exploded. They say those chemicals can harm people who come in contact with them. If you find a suspicious device like that, stay clear of it and call 9-1-1. If you have information on this incident contact Platteville Police at (608)348-2313.
