From the City of Edgerton Police Department:

On 8/27/2012 Edgerton Police officers discovered a burglary to a local business, Yeske Construction 427 West High Street.

During the investigation, it was confirmed that a vehicle was taken from inside the garage.

As officers continued to attempt to locate the vehicle, it was observed traveling westbound on West Lawton Street at 1:15 a.m.

As officers arrived in the area, the vehicle fled eastbound on W. Lawton Street with officers in pursuit southbound on Highway 51.

The vehicle avoided stop-sticks at Highway 51/Russell Road deployed by RCSO. The vehicle continued on Russell, Newville Road, and Highway 59 back into Edgerton.

Stop-sticks were again deployed by RCSO at 59/51 which were successful.

The vehicle continued westbound on W. Fulton Street and came to stop in the ditch at W. Fulton and Dallman Road.

The suspect was identified as Andrew A. Hopp of Edgerton. Hopp was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Rock County jail on charges of Burglary, Operating w/o Owners Consent, Criminal Damage to Property, Knowingly Fleeing an Officer, OWI (2nd), Operating After Revocation, Theft and warrant through D.O.C.
