One of three Madison shootings overnight Monday sent a bullet straight through a family's home on Chapel Hill Road just feet from the four people inside.
Terry Buss woke up in her home on Chapel Hill Road just after midnight to find that someone had taken a shot through her window.
"I didn't know what to think," said Buss. "I came downstairs. Cops already were coming into my house."
The path the bullet took is shown by four holes in the walls. It made its way through the window, her living room wall, and is now lodged in her kitchen-- a path directly in between her boyfriend who was in the kitchen and her two daughters sleeping upstairs.
"It's just like two feet from my daughter's room," said Buss.
No one was injured, but if the shot was aimed just a little differently, Terry said it would have been a different story.
"I don't know what to think... Nerves are shot right now, but it'll hit me sometime."
But what she is sure of is getting out of the neighborhood.
"I have to look out for the safety of my children, and if I don't what kind of parent am I?"
Madison police believe they were a random target and are still searching for suspects.
