The Madison Police Department has arrested 3 persons of interest, including a Chicago homicide suspect, in connection to two incidents of gun fire that occurred this past weekend on Darbo Dr. and Webb Ave.
Working with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the various units of the MPD (including the Criminal Intelligence Section, the Crime Prevention & Gang Unit, and the K9 Unit) an intensive dragnet, including undercover surveillance, was mounted this past Monday.
Over the course of 6 hours, the MPD made two traffic stops.
Recovered in the process were a .40 caliber handgun, and a box of full metal jacket .40 caliber ammunition.
The cases, including motives for the gun violence, remain under investigation.
East District Det. Lt. Joey Skenandore has recommended commendations for all involved in the dragnet saying the actions of these officers likely prevented further violence in the Webb-Darbo area.
