Release from Beaver Dam Police Department:
During the early morning hours of Saturday, July 21, 2012, the Beaver Dam Police Department responded to a disturbance in the 300 block of Beaver St. While investigating this incident, it was discovered that one of the individuals involved was also involved in committing numerous acts of theft during the overnight hours of Friday, July 20 - Saturday, July 21, 2012. These acts of theft are believed to have occurred primarily from unlocked vehicles.
The suspect in theses thefts has been identified and is currently in the Dodge County Jail. The Beaver Dam Police Department has recovered approximately 100 pieces of property stolen by this individual. As of 7/26/2012, we have only received complaints for and returned about half of the property.
As of this time, we believe that a majority of the acts of theft occurred in an area of the city north of Front St. and west of N. Spring St. We are asking members of the public who believe they have been the victim of theft and have not reported the incident to please contact the Police Department to make a complaint. Officers will be able to check a listing of property recovered in this complaint and make arrangements to have it returned.
