CrimeTracker 15: Edgerton Man Arrested After Police Chase

From the Rock County Sheriff's Department:

On 11/22/12 at approximately 3:20 a.m., a City of Edgerton Police Officer attempted to stop a vehicle being operated without headlights on. The vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit ensued. Edgerton Police pursued the vehicle south on N USH 51 out of the City of Edgerton and into the County of Rock.

Edgerton Police continued the pursuit south on N USH 51 at speeds up to 70 mph. Deputies from the Rock County Sheriff’s Office were requested to deploy stop sticks. Deputies from the Rock County Sheriff’s Office deployed two sets of stops sticks south of the pursuit on N USH 51. The vehicle struck both sets of stop sticks, which deflated 3 tires. The vehicle came to a stop near the intersection of N USH 51 and W USH 14. The driver was taken into custody without further incident.

The driver, Christopher J. Barrett, 22yrs of age, of Edgerton, WI was arrested for Operating While Under the Influence (1st), Prohibited Alcohol Concentration, and Knowingly Flee an Officer.

Barrett is in custody at the Rock County Jail pending an initial court appearance on 11/23/12 at 1:00 p.m.
