Arrested: Male, age 16, Madison
Suspect was arrested for Theft and cited for Minor Possessing Tobacco Products, as well as one for a Curfew Violation.
Victim(s): Numerous
Details: An Eton Ridge resident called for police early Monday morning after hearing her car door slam, and then looking out to see a suspect walking away from her home. She discovered he had rifled through the interior of her car, and believed some change was missing. The witness provided police with a good description, and a 16-year old suspect was found walking toward Commonwealth Ave.
MPD K9 Slim sniffed the interior of the victim's car. Slim then led officers down the street to a parked squad car. Inside sat the suspect. Slim got to the outside of the squad, sat down and began to bark, indicating the suspect from the theft was inside. The teen later confessed to entering numerous vehicles parked on streets off of Regent. He had some change in his pockets, and said he was hunting for an iPod, because his had been stolen.
