Concerned citizens called for police Friday afternoon after a pedestrian walking from Seminole Highway to Monroe Street made repeated shooting gestures at passing vehicles. A responding officer watched as the suspect raised his left arm, like he was holding the forearm of a long gun. He used his right arm to grip an imaginary stock, and would then jerk his body "as if a rifle had fired and the recoil jerked him back," wrote the officer. The man was found to have knife with a 5" blade, under his shirt, concealed inside a homemade sheath which he wore on his belt. He also had a pipe that smelled of marijuana, and was wearing a necklace that had a large caliber bullet attached to it. The suspect told the officer he legally could make the shooting gestures, and that he was going to continue to make them, which he did, from the back of the squad car. The officer said he was now "aiming" at both vehicles and pedestrians.
