Press Release from Beloit Police:
On Wednesday, 02/27/2013 shortly after 5:00 p.m., Beloit Police officers responded to the Walgreens Pharmacy, 1531 Madison Rd. for an attempted theft.
Investigation reveals that a white male suspect presented a note to a Walgreen’s employee requesting a quantity of oxycontin and oxycodone. The employee notified the Pharmacist.
While the pharmacist was calling for police assistance, the suspect left the store without obtaining any product.
The suspect fled the area in a vehicle that had been parked near the J & S Pet Store. This vehicle is described as a dark colored (possibly black); full size pickup truck, with a silver tool box in the bed behind the cab.
The suspect is described as a W/M, 5’8”-6’0”, and medium build. He was wearing a forest green winter parka with the hood pulled up tight making it difficult to see his face. The suspect did not display a weapon or threaten force. There were no physical injuries.
The description and suspect’s actions are very similar to other thefts/robberies that have occurred recently at Madison area and Janesville Walgreen’s.
