UPDATE: Monona Police arrest 16-year-old bank robbery suspect

UPDATED Tuesday, June 11, 2013 --- 8:50 a.m.

Monona Police say they have arrested the suspect in Saturday's robbery at the Monona State Bank.

Officers took a 16-year-old male into custody Monday. They arrested and charged him based on evidence found a short distance away from the scene of the crime.

Monona Investigators are working with Madison Police to determine if there is a connection between this robbery and other robberies that happened at the Associated Bank nearby, or if other suspects were involved.

Monona Police are searching for a bank robber.

The crime happened Saturday, June 8th at 11:06 a.m.

The suspect told a teller at the Monona State Bank on Bridge Road that he had an explosive device in a back pack. He left with cash.

Monona Police provided this description: Suspect is a male black, late teens to early 20’s, wearing a hooded sweatshirt and a white mask.
