UPDATE: Robber Targets Stop-N-Go In Janesville; Suspect in Custody

UPDATED Sunday, July 29, 2012 --- 5:42 p.m.

From the Janesville Police Department:

On 7-29-12 at approximately 9:17am Janesville police officers arrested Jordan M. Riggs for the robbery at Stop-N-Go, 714 Center Ave. Riggs was identified as a possible suspect from evidence gathered at the scene. Patrol officers spotted Riggs leaving a residence on Mt.Zion Ave in Janesville and took him into custody. Riggs was tentatively charged with robbery and theft in regards to this incident. He was also charged with battery for an unrelated incident (12-7222). He is being held at the Rock County Jail.

From the Janesville Police Department:

On 7-29-12 at approximately 2:44 a.m. officers were dispatched to the Stop-N-Go at 714 Center Avenue for a report of a robbery that just occurred.

A male suspect entered the store and demanded the money from the register.

After taking an undisclosed amount of money the suspect fled the scene on foot.

No one was injured during the robbery and no weapon was displayed.

The suspect is described as:
- Light skinned black male
- Mid to late 20s
- Approximately 6ft tall and 160-170lbs
- Short dark hair with a receding hair line
- Light beard or goatee
- Wearing a black tank top covered by a button up style shirt that was white with black or grey stripes
- Dark colored pants
- Black tennis shoes with white soles
- Black wrist band with the word "boobies" on his right wrist.

This incident remains under investigation.
