CrimeTracker 15: Stabbing Suspect Arrested

Release from the Stoughton Police Department:

On Saturday, November 13, 2010, at 4:24 PM, Stoughton Police Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of South Monroe Street in the City of Stoughton for a person that had been stabbed. Stoughton Police Responded along with Stoughton Area EMS.

Officers’ preliminary investigation revealed that Daniel L. Wright, 35, Stoughton, was allegedly intoxicated and went to the residence of his brother, Don Temple, 45, Stoughton, requesting him to go out drinking with him. Don refused to go with him and an altercation erupted. Don was attempting to close the door on Daniel and Daniel allegedly stabbed Don in the upper left chest. Daniel fled the scene in a vehicle.

Don Temple was transported to UW Hospital and Clinics by Stoughton Area EMS where he was treated and released.

On December 2nd, 2010, the Dane County District Attorneys Office filed a criminal complaint charging Daniel Wright with a felony count of First Degree Reckless Endangerment and a warrant was issued by Dane County Circuit Judge Julie Genovese.

On March 14th, 2011, Daniel L. Wright, 36, walked into the Stoughton Police Department and turned himself in on the outstanding warrant. He was arrested and transported to the Dane County Jail and incarcerated on his outstanding warrant.

Pursuant to the directive of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, as found in Supreme Court Rule 20:3.6, Trial Publicity, you are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
