Jefferson County Sheriff Paul Milbrath reports that between June 7, 2012 and June 12, 2012, 8 burglaries have occurred within Jefferson County. Five of those occurred in the Town of Koshkonong, south of the city of Fort Atkinson and three in the Town of Palmyra.
The burglaries are occurring in the early morning hours. In every burglary the residence has been occupied and entry is make either through an open door or by cutting a window screen. Convenient items of value that are visible in the plain view are being taken. The items are normally able to be seen by the perpetrator through a window or patio door. No home owner has been injured or confronted in any of the incidents. The perpetrator is in and out of the residence within a matter of minutes.
Sheriff Milbrath is reminding everyone to make sure their doors and windows are locked.
