CrimeTracker 15: 3 Janesville Restaurants Burglarized

Posted Tuesday, January 18, 2011 --- 1:30 p.m.

Press Release from Janesville Police:

Three local restaurants in Janesville have been burglarized recently. Investigators believe the same burglar has committed all three crimes. The restaurants burglarized didn’t show damage to their exteriors and the crimes weren’t discovered until the next morning.

In each burglary, the suspect has stolen cash out of drawers, cash registers or safes. The burglaries happen overnight.

The crimes are unusual because most burglaries are “smash and grabs” where the burglar breaks a door or window to quickly gain entry to a building, steals something and then flees.

Police have no suspects at this time.

The restaurants burglarized included:
• Prime Quarter, 1900 Humes Road on Dec. 18
• Little Caesars Pizza, 5 S. Harmony Dr. on Dec. 29
• Cozumel Mexican Restaurant, 2900 Deerfield Dr. on Jan 7.

Anyone with information about the restaurant burglaries can call Police at (608) 755-3100 or Janesville Area Crime Stoppers at (608) 756-3636. Tipsters also can text information to 274637. Start the text message with JACS and type the message.
