Release from Janesville Police Department:
On 12-21-2011 from 10 AM to 6 PM the Janesville Police Department in cooperation with the Wisconsin State Patrol, Rock County Sheriffs Office, Dept. of Corrections -Probation/Parole and Milton Police Department ran a highway interdiction effort. This effort was focused on highway safety and the interdiction of illegal drugs being transported into the City of Janesville. Hwy 51/Center Ave between State Highway 11 bypass and the five points' intersection was the primary focus of the interdiction efforts.
The operation resulted in 69 traffic violation stops where 99 warnings and 56 traffic citations were issued. During these stops one subject was arrest for 2 counts of delivery of heroin. 13 subjects on probation through the Department of Corrections were contacted resulting in 4 subjects being held for probation violations. During the operation officers seized a minimal amount of marijuana.
