Merryturn Rd.

Female, age 55, Madison
Details:
A 55-year-old East Side resident contacted the MPD Monday morning after discovering someone had shot paintballs at the door of her Merryturn Rd. home. She had been awakened by a loud noise around 3:00 a.m., but heard nothing further and went back to sleep.
Parts of the MPD's East District have recently experienced an up-tick in vandalism, and many cases involve paintballs.
Since mid-December there have been a couple of dozen property damage reports taken by officers. Parked vehicles, as well as homes, have been hit with paintballs. Some residents have also had car windows broken, and a Jacobson Ave. homeowner reported a small hole in a porch window. What caused it could not be determined.
Most cases have occurred near N. Stoughton Rd., E. Buckeye Rd., Cottage Grove Rd., and N. Thompson Dr.
Anyone with possible suspect information is urged to contact Madison Area Crime Stoppers at 266-6014. Callers can remain anonymous and maybe eligible for up to a $1,000 reward.
