Release from Rock County Sheriff's Office:
This morning at 11:05AM, the Rock County Sheriff’s Office patrol division was requested to assist drug and gang investigators from the Rock County Sheriff’s Office, Beloit Police Department and the Winnebago County (IL) Sheriff’s Office. Investigators had attempted to make contact with a vehicle in regards to a narcotics investigation that they were conducting. The vehicle turned east off of US 51 onto Sherman Lane, which is a dead-end road. The suspects, identified as a middle-aged Hispanic male with short hair and a middle-aged Hispanic female with medium-length hair, fled from the vehicle on foot into a very dense, heavily-wooded area.
Deputies and Detectives from the Rock County Sheriff’s Office, as well as, officers from the Janesville Police Department, Beloit Police Department, Beloit Township Police Department, and the Wisconsin State Patrol responded to the area in an attempt to locate the suspects. An extensive search, involving K-9’s from the Sheriff’s Office, Beloit PD and Janesville PD, as well as, an airplane from the Wisconsin State Patrol searched the area for approximately eight hours without success.
