From the Monona Police Department:
On 01-25-12, at 6:23pm, the Monona Police Department was dispatched to the Kohls Department Store for a report of an adult male who had stolen a pair of shoes and fled. The store gave a physical and clothing description of the male and last known location as he fled.
A short time later a Monona officer noticed a male matching the description of the suspect as he got onto a bus at the corner of Bridge Road and Broadway. The officer made contact with the male on the bus to investigate further. The male, 18 year old KENNETH C JOHNSON had the stolen shoes by hiding them in his pants. The subject fought with the officer in an attempt to flee, but was restrained and taken into custody.
Johnson was arrested and taken to the Dane County jail on charges of resisting arrest and retail theft.
