From the Middleton Police Department:
In the past week, the Middleton Police Department has taken two reports of wallet thefts from a restricted employee area of a Middleton business.
In at least one case, the suspect was found to have entered the business via a secluded and unlocked employee door. After entering the business, the suspect proceeded to a nearby cubicle area where he stole an employee’s wallet from their unattended purse. The suspect fled the building on foot after being seen.
The suspect is described as a white or light-skinned male with an average build, and a height of about 5’11”. He was wearing sunglasses, a beanie-type hat, and had on a gray hooded sweatshirt with jeans. He was last seen entering a gold 4-door car with a rear spoiler, which was parked across the street.
The Middleton Police Department encourages businesses to secure all secluded doorways and not leave them unlocked, even during business hours. Further, employees should be encouraged to secure any items of value while at work, especially cell phones, iPods, and wallets. Please contact the Middleton Police Department immediately if you observe any suspicious person(s) in restricted areas of your business, and try to obtain a detailed description if possible.
