Details:
One of several suspects connected to a series of high-profile smash-and-grab business burglaries two years ago is back in custody.
Silvan Fleming, age 43, Stoughton, tried to run from officers, and then struggled with them, as the Madison Police Department (MPD) responded to a burglary in progress Monday night. The MPD was called to a home in the 1900 block of Beld Street after a front window was shattered. The suspect was found in the area bleeding profusely from his right hand. He was treated at a local hospital and taken to jail.
Fleming was one of several suspects apprehended in 1998 when the MPD shutdown a burglary ring responsible for multiple pattern break-ins that had targeted greater Madison area businesses.
