Arrested: Austin C. Justinak, age 20, Minocqua, WI
Mr. Justinak was arrested for Theft of Movable Property, Entry into Locked Vehicle, Resisting/Obstructing, Criminal Damage to Property, and Underage Person Possess or Consume Off Licensed Premises.

Details: A patch of backyard ice ended an overnight foot chase as a theft suspect was sent sprawling to the ground. Moments earlier a witness and a police officer had spotted him inside a parked car in the 100 block of N. Butler St. The front passenger window had been smashed out, and it appeared the suspect was rummaging through the passenger compartment for valuables. The officer increased illumination with the beam of a flashlight and told him to not move.

The suspect ignored the order and took off. Other officers were moving in to cut him off when his feet went out from under him. “I didn’t do nothing,” he protested, but a CD stolen from the car was recovered from his flight path, and he was told that he had actually been caught red handed by police.

He proceeded to unleash a litany of angry words toward the officers, indicating he had relatives in the police and fire professions, that he has a lot of money, and would be getting out of these charges.
